Graduation Ceremony 2014
On Saturday, November 15, 2014, Oudemanhuispoort hosted a Graduation Ceremony for the students of the Master’s in Public International Law and European Law programmes.
After Vice – Dean, Prof. Marjoleine Zieck gave a opening speech, seventy students from over 10 different countries received their diplomas. Each student gave a brief explanation of their thesis to over 260 guests, who had gathered from all around the globe to attend the festivities. A special welcome was given to the Ambassador of Rwanda, who had come to support a Rwandan student receiving his Master’s in Public International Law. The student is part of an exchange programme that both the University of Amsterdam and the Ministry of Defence contribute to. After the students were awarded their diplomas, Lazar Radic Boskovic and Katherine Connolly received a special award for the best thesis and the highest grade point average, respectively. With ground breaking research in European Law and a weighted grade point average of 8.875, both students were praised for their exceptional results.
