‘I started my Master’s degree in Labour Law: European & International Labour Law in 2012. I made the decision to come to Amsterdam because it's the only university in Europe which offers a full  programme dedicated to international labour relations taught in English. Worth to note is that the university has got a fantastic reputation worldwide and is equipped with dedicated experts.’

Content of the Master

‘The combination of this Master’s course with a beautiful town is just perfect. Although it has been hard work and exhausting, it has been thrilling and challenging as well. Classes are small, intensive and interactive, allowing everyone to express their opinion and discuss matters in a comprehensive way. Working in groups, giving presentations and writing essays is part of it. Seminars are topic-specific; they are run by professors and guests specialising in the particular topic. Lecturers, tutors and staff are friendly and helpful and care about the department and the way modules are taught. The Law library houses everything you need for your degree.’

After graduation

‘In today's global, mobile and information-based economy, multinationals seek expert guidance on employment law compliance that align globally. In the course of my studies I had an opportunity to work at Heineken’s headquarters in Amsterdam, where I dealt with cross-border labour and employment law matters. This allowed me to put my knowledge into practice and understand how international labour law is important in business.’
