Prof. Ronald Beltzer
European and International Labour Law (LLM track)
Prof. Ronald Beltzer founded the master’s programme in European and International Labour Law after realizing that most of the Dutch programme in ‘Arbeidsrecht’ actually consisted of international and European law.
'The importance of the study of international labour law is incontestable. The vast amount of European jurisprudence in this field alone justifies a separate master’s programme dedicated exclusively to international labour law.’
‘With the English-language programme we hope to attract students from other EU member states and students from elsewhere with an interest in European law and its everyday consequences. While global issues are an important component of the programme, for the most part it deals with EU law.’
‘When it comes to labour law, I hope for further integration within the European Union. We need to bring down barriers and move away from a situation in which companies choose one European country over another just because of lower labour costs.’
Prof. Beltzer teaches ‘Restructuring Companies’ as part of the programme and is a thesis supervisor.
