Third International Pre-moot Amsterdam organized at the Amsterdam Law School
From 29-31 January 2016, the Amsterdam Law School will host the 3rd International Premoot Amsterdam (IPA), as a part of the preparation for the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot (Vis Moot).
Pre-moot and Moot Court
The Vis Moot is a renowned annual moot court competition on arbitration and international sales law, held in Hong Kong and Vienna. The University of Amsterdam's Law School has sent teams of 4-5 students to participate in this moot court competition since 2010.
In preparation for the competition there are pre-moots around the world for participants to hone their argumentation skills. For the third time, the Amsterdam Law School, together with international law firms, is hosting one of those pre-moot competitions in Amsterdam, in which 16 teams both from the Netherlands and abroad will participate.
On Saturday 30 January, university teams of two students each will argue against each other in front of three-headed arbitral tribunals at the Oudemanhuispoort. There will also be an extensive social programme including lunches, dinners and drinks, giving the participants an opportunity to get to know each other and to meet professionals from different legal cultures.
